List of Graduate Degrees

List of PhD Programs (R.D. 99/2011)

The Official Graduate Programs are geared towards the specialization of the students in their academic, professional or research preparation. They are divided into two cycles as a continuation of the undergraduate studies (which constitute the first cycle):

- The Second Cycle of university studies is dedicated to an advanced preparation, either specialized or multi-disciplinary, geared towards an academic or professional specialization, or to promote the initiation of research tasks. A Master’s degree is conferred upon the successful completion of this cycle.

- The Third Cycle intends to complete the advanced preparation of the student in research techniques, and includes the development and presentation of the Doctoral Thesis. A Doctorate degree is conferred upon the successful completion of this cycle.

The Royal Decree 56/2005 from 21 January, which regulates official graduate university studies, stipulates the framework to which the instruction must adapt. The diplomas and titles obtained are official and valid within national boundaries.
