The Turtle Room in the University of Salamanca, currently located in the Faculty of Sciences, has been exhibiting paleontological activity since 1965. Its name makes reference to the group of vertebrate fossils, notable for their quality and quantity, with the research was initially launched.
There is also a significant collection of crocodiles, perisodactiles, artiodactiles, primates, fish and trace fossils (impressions, coprolites, eggs).
More than 15000 samples have been catalogued, from the Jurassic age to the Quaternary, most notable of which are the numerous sample types and drawings, as well as unique museum quality pieces of great scientific and didactic interest.
